Calibration Fundamentals for Physical Parameters
This two day curriculum offers essential training in the calibration of temperature and pressure instrumentation specifically and general information concerning balances, liquid level, pipettes, and transmitter calibrations. The instruction is designed for individuals with some knowledge of Metrology or general measurement principles. The course includes basic parameter theory, sensor technology, sensor selection, calibration techniques, calibration standard selection, and reference sources. The class will also include many “nuts and bolts” tips to improve the productivity and repeatibility of these calibrations.
The course also includes a brief history of metrology, measurement systems, metrology management systems and requirements, and software.
TOPICS COVERED IN THIS COURSE
Calibration Requirements of ISO 17025:2005, ISO 10012, and ANSI-NCSL Z540 Overview of Metrology Definitions TUR and Uncertainty Calibration vs. Verification Overview of Traceability Calibration Labeling and Documentation Practices Setting and Adjusting Intervals 4-20 mA/0-1 V Transmitters Set-up and Calibration Temperature Calibration including:
