STANDARDS
One of the most asked questions in our training class is "Where do I find calibration standards to list on my Calibration procedures?"
Here is a list of partial standard references. It is neither complete nor is it the only references you can use. My intent is to help you with a list for your use. If you have other stadards and would like to share the information please send me a copy and I will get the information sent out.
CALIBRATION TIP: ISO/TS 16949
7.6.3.1 Internal Laboratory
"...The laboratory shall specify and implement, as a minimum, technical requirements for:
---Adequacy of the laboratory procedures,... (The added note says "Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 may be used to demonstrate supplier laboratory conformity to this requirement but is not mandatory.)
ISO/DIS 17025
5.4.2 Selection of Methods (Paragraph 2)
"When the client does not specify the method to be used, the laboratory shall select appropriate methods that have been published either in international, regional or national standards, or by reputable technical organizations, or in relevant scientific texts or journals or as specified buy the manufacturer."
If you make the claim that you conform to ISO 17025 then you have to include these references in your calibration procedure. This is where the question arises about where to find the information or the standard. It is your responsibility to have the latest edition on file for your auditor to see.
